Olivier Fabris   Olivier Fabris
General Manager
Localization Engineer

Olivier, a native of Belgium, is a translation project manager and has been with the Academy of Languages since 1999. Olivier brings with him an extensive language background, including experiences from studying English, Dutch, and Latin in high school, achieving a BA at the Translation School in Belgium in Russian/English to French translation, and spending a year in Moscow traveling and studying Russian. Olivier has represented the Academy at the ATA conference, and was elected to the Board of Directors of the Northwest Translators and Interpreters Society (NOTIS). Always interested in continuing education, Olivier has completed university-level courses in localization at the University of Washington. When not coordinating multilingual translation projects or providing desktop publishing for a client, Olivier can be seen on the soccer field or in a movie house taking in a good independent flick.
 

Chaouky Kaboul   Chaouky Kaboul

Localization Engineer

Chaouky, a native of Lebanon, has been living in Seattle since 1975. In 1979 he co-founded Washington Academy of Languages, and subsequently with his interest in Translation and Interpretation, formed the Academy of Languages (AOLTI). He is a founding member of NOTIS, and also helped establish the Translation and Interpretation Institute at Bellevue Community College. Chaouky studied localization at the University of Washington which allows him to work as a localization engineer in addition to his current work as a senior project manager/translator.

 

Alicia Lanzner   Alicia Lanzner
Assistant Interpreter Coordinator

Alicia, a native of Panama, joined our Interpreting Department in the spring of 2004 in the capacity of assistant interpreter coordinator. In addition to her first-hand knowledge of our industry gained through freelancing as a Spanish translator/interpreter (she is court-certified by the State of Washington), she brings with her extensive experience in project management and coordination. Before joining AOLTI, Alicia worked as a translator/interpreter for Rena Ware International where she traveled on behalf of the company to places such as Thailand, Italy, and Dominican Republic and throughout the US.

Alicia attended bilingual schools in Panama where she majored in English, earning her BA from the University of Panama. She immigrated to the US in 1993. She lives in Seattle with her husband and daughter. She enjoys salsa and merengue music, walking on the Burke Gilman trail and reading. She balances her reading selections between English and Spanish in order to maintain her perfectly bilingual skills.

 

Katarzyna Zehn   Katarzyna Zehn
Translation Project Manager

Katarzyna, a native of Poland, moved to Seattle with her husband in July of 2004, and joined AOLTI one year later. After receiving her Master’s Degree in German Language & Literature from the University of Warsaw, Poland, Katarzyna lived and worked in Berlin, Germany for seven years before coming to the States. She brings with her an extensive foreign language competence – with a background in Polish, German, Russian, and English. Prior to joining AOLTI, she worked as an Intern at the World Affairs Council in Seattle where she sharpened her international project management skills. In her free time, Katarzyna loves rollerblading, skiing, reading German & Russian literature, and journaling.

 

Varya Gracheva   Varya Gracheva
Interpreter Coordinator

Varya, a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, came to Washington in 1997, where she attended Evergreen State College and received a Liberal Arts Degree. In 2001, she moved to Seattle where she attended the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies and received her Master’s Degree in East European Studies, with an emphasis on the Balkans. She has also studied in France at the University of Sorbonne as a part of her Master’s Degree. Varya joined AOLTI in August of 2005, bringing to the company a strong background in cross-cultural and international experience. Varya spends her free time in a variety of outdoor activities including swimming, skiing, hiking & fishing, and also enjoys reading and watching films, as well as studying new foreign languages.

 

Ramon Chavarria   Ramon Chavarria
Assistant Interpreter Coordinator

Ramon, a native of Panama, moved to Chicago in 1989 where he received his Marketing Management degree from Illinois Eastern College. He moved to Seattle in 2000, and has worked with AOLTI as a Spanish Interpreter since 2003. He began his work as an assistant Interpreter Coordinator two years later. Ramon, fluent in Spanish & English, brings with him a background in bilingual customer service and sales skills, along with experience with extensive medical terminology and a marketing background. Ramon has taught English & Spanish as a second language to business professionals in Panama through PanUsa – a Bi-National Center run by the U.S. Embassy. In his free time Ramon enjoys film, rollerblading, working out, and keeping in touch with his family & friends in Panama.
