When it came time to plan for the transition of the Fred
Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) patient care program
to the newly established Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA),
the Academy came very highly recommended from the clinic staff
that has worked with them throughout the years. It quickly
became clear to me that the Academy is committed to meeting and
exceeding its customer's needs. Prior to the SCCA's 'go live'
date, the Academy staff participated in a building orientation
program and tour. Though it was a new contract in a new setting,
the Academy demonstrated from the beginning that they were
committed to providing the same high quality services to the
SCCA patients that they provided in all the previous years it
was associated with the FHCRC. |

Our Highly-Qualified Interpreters
Careful interpreter screening for linguistic ability, professionalism
and experience on the Academy's part is extremely important to our
clients and we take it very seriously.
Although there is no true "licensing" available for interpreters in the
United States, Washington State court interpreter certification is
currently available in seven languages: Cambodian, Cantonese, Korean,
Laotian, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese. The Washington State
Department of Social Health Services exam provides general certification
for medical and community translation and interpretation. We not only
recognize these certifications, but require them for medical and legal
interpretation. All interpreters in all languages working with the
Academy adhere to the Washington State Code of Conduct for Court
Interpreters and to Academy Ethics and Guidelines for Interpreters.
We encourage scheduling interpreters far in advance to assure
availability. Interpreters' preparation makes your presentations and
conferences polished and professional. Our project managers work
together with you to gather critical background and supporting material
for interpreters, empowering you to build important relationships
through precise multilingual, oral communication.
